It’s Panto time! No it’s not, Yes it … oh stop it …

Picking up a camera aged 14 I found my expression of art, never being able to draw the camera gave me a way to capture initially what I loved to see, progressed to shoot my first wedding when I was 18 and really the rest is history 🙂 I have never been a technical photographer, I base my years of experience on what I see and love through the lens, and the final product, that's all that matter to me ...

It between cow shopping and playing with the new drone, yes, the Phantom, the beast is going through it’s paces rather well but anyway … the Panto 🙂

Always keen to explore new work a panto seemed a brilliant way to expand the business and it was good fun, it was also very very long! 2 hours! What?!?! I never knew, amazing and for a local village panto too and I have to say it was so well preformed it’s great that made the decision to have it recorded. And that’s such a good decision for several reasons, firstly it gives them something to sell on however they want adding more cash to the charity and secondly and equally important but for different reasons it provides a time capsule and as all the cast are local this really does stand as a moment in time and would hope that in 50 years people can look back and remember those faces, some of which will have gone.

One thing I never expected, apart from the length of course was level of fun everyone seemed to be having right from the stage to the rear where I was … All set up with 2 camera’s to make sure I got the best from slightly different angles. Luckily for me I used a boom mic to get the stage sound which worked well above the clapping and cheering.

The other thing that was odd was because of the way they wanted it filmed once record has been pressed you just sit back and watch the monitors and generally enjoy the show which I did! It was surprisingly lively and from what I could see everyone on stage was having a ball. Filming was a doddle which makes a nice change, that said, the monitor became the most looked at thing, essentially everything is great while everything is running.

Overall it was a fun experience and with ice cream at half time the evening was a grand success and the resultant 26g if data happily came home for the start of the editing process.

Lets hope for another few requests when panto time rolls around at the end of the year, its fun, its local and has a lovely charity element to boot, what’s not to like 🙂
